British Virgin Islands Earthquake Registers 3.8 on Richter Scale Late Sunday Night

ROAD TOWN, Tortola — The British Virgin Islands has had three earthquakes in the last 24 hours; 10 earthquakes in the past seven days; 25 earthquakes in the last 30 days and 693 earthquakes in the past 365 days.

The latest earthquake registered 3.8 on the Richter Scale and took place about 35 miles away from the BVI, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It occurred at 10:04 p.m. Sunday and was detected to be 51 miles underground, the USGS said.
