CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man is being detained this weekend after a woman told police on Friday he raped her.

Alvin Clements Jr., 27, was arrested and charged with first-degree rape-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) said.

The woman went to the Juan F. Luis Hospital at 10:55 a.m. on Friday and told hospital officials she was raped, according to the VIPD.

Police said that the woman told them Clements had sex with her against her will.

He was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Facility pending as advice of rights hearing.
