REPEAT OFFENDER: St. Croix’s Dequan J.J. Forde Arrested For Gunpoint Robbery in May

MID-ISLAND — A St. Croix man who allegedly robbed another man at gunpoint as he walked along Northside Road in Estate Glynn in May has been arrested.

Dequan J.J. Forde, 20, was charged with first-degree robbery based on an arrest warrant issued by a Superior Court Magistrate, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

On May 26, 2018, at approximately 5:15 p.m., police officers from the Wilbur Francis Command Police Station responded to a reported a robbery victim located at the Sam’s Service Station in Estate Glynn.

Contact was made with the victim, who stated that he was robbed at gunpoint while he was walking in the Glynn area.

Upon further investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau an arrest warrant was obtained for Forde for a first-degree robbery by a Superior Court Magistrate.

On July 27, 2018 at approximately 4:45 p.m., Forde was remanded at the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility for an unrelated matter, was served with the arrest warrant and taken into custody.

Unable to post bail of $100,000.00 Forde was  remanded back to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility.

Forde was also arrested at the Henry Rohlsen Airport by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in February and charged with having 20 pounds of marijuana in his luggage.

In June, Forde was arrested for allegedly having an illegal gun while riding as a passenger in a car on St. Croix.
