CHARLOTTE AMALIE —  Governor Kenneth Mapp and Lieutenant Governor Osbert Potter hit the sand and surf on Sunday to enjoy the 34th Annual Chili Cook Off hosted by the Texas Society of the Virgin Islands on St. Thomas.

Although John Brewers Beach was filled with over 50 teams from organizations, businesses and political candidates competing for the top chili prizes, the Governor and the Lt. Governor acknowledged many of the participants and beach goers on this extremely hot afternoon.

Although there were fewer booths than last year, numerous beach and chili enthusiasts were excited to simply meet and greet the Governor; many thanking him for the speedy recovery after last year’s hurricanes.

The excitement for progress and for the savory aroma that filled the air, Governor Mapp shook hands with every booth representative and wished them the best for this annual fund-raising event.
