St. Croix Wanted Man Tomas Melendez Captured By Police Sometime on Sunday

FREDERIKSTED — Police apprehended wanted man Tomas Melendez when they responded to a “disturbance” on Sunday.

Officers from the Wilbur Francis Command (Zone B) took the 39-year-old Melendez into custody two days ago, police said at 5:04 p.m. Monday.

The Virgin Islands Police Department did not state what time they effected the arrest on Sunday in a prepared statement.

Once in custody, Melendez was charged with contempt of court–domestic violence, according to the VIPD.

No bail was set as per the domestic violence statute, and he was remand to the Golden Grove Detention Facility.
