VIWMA Restores LBJ Pump Station … Sewage Backing Up King Cross Street Monday

CHRISTIANSTED — The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) said that the LBJ Pump Station returned to service on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 5:12 pm after corrective actions were taken.

The VIWMA would like to thank its contractors and staff for their teamwork and commitment to getting the job done.

A Virgin Islands Free Press visit to the site Monday morning revealed that part of King Cross Street was blocked off with a plastic traffic cone to keep people from driving in sewage backing up from a manhole.

The Authority advises motorists to use caution while traveling in the vicinity of #1 King Cross Street (Angry Nates).

The VIWMA Preserving Paradise team would also like to thank the community for their patience and cooperation.
