St. Thomas’s Clayton Laurent Beats Kenny Cruz Carasquillo In Puerto Rico


SAN JUAN — St. Thomas boxer Clayton Laurent Jr. remained undefeated with a four-round unanimous decision over Kenny Cruz Carasquillo of Bayamon on Friday night.

Heavyweight Laurent bested Cruz Carasquillo at the Coliseo Ruben Zayas Montanez in Trujillo Alto before his opponent’s home crowd.

With the victory, Laurent improves to 3-0 in his professional boxing career.

His stepfather, Julian “The Hawk” Jackson was on hand to congratulate him in the ring after the win.

The 28-year-old qualified for the 2016 Olympic team for the U.S. Virgin Islands.
