16-Year-Old Hilary Paris Found Safe And Sound Near The Knolls At Contant
CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A teenage girl who ran away from Seaview Adolescent facility 11 days ago has been found safe and sound by authorities.
Hilary Paris, 16, of Bolongo Bay was found in the rear of The Knolls at Contant sometime after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Police had been alerted to the area by a concerned citizen who recognized Paris and reported seeing her walking near the Contant Knolls housing community, according to the VIPD.
Paris left Seaview Adolescent in Bolongo Bay about 8 a.m. on January 5 and hadn’t been seen again until Wednesday.
Detectives from the VIPD’s Juvenile Bureau were tipped off about Paris being in the Contant Knolls area about 8:30 p.m., VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said.
“Detectives from the Juvenile Bureau, ECU, and patrol officers from the Richard Callwood command quickly traveled to the area of Contant Knolls Housing community, where Hilary Paris was located in the rear of Building 4, attempting to elude capture,” Dratte said. “Hilary Paris was then placed in protective custody.”
The VIPD’s Acting Commissioner Jason Marsh thanked the good people of our community for providing information to help locate the runaway teenager and the VIPD Officers and Detectives for their persistent effort bringing this minor home safe and well.
