Professional Boxer Accused Of Having Sex With 15-Year-Old Girl on St. Thomas: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A professional boxer is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl on St. Thomas.

John A. “Dah Rock” Jackson, 30, of Charlotte Amalie, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with second-degree aggravated rape, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Jackson is the youngest son of three-time world champion boxer Julian “The Hawk” Jackson.

On Tuesday February 05, 2019, an adult male reported to VIPD that his minor daughter, age 15 had sexual intercourse with an adult male individual.

“Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Jackson had sexual intercourse with the minor several times,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said. “The minor stated that Mr. Jackson was aware of her age.”

On Wednesday, Jackson was present at the Domestic Violence Office where he was advised of his rights, which he stated he understood and provided a statement, according to the VIPD.

“He admitted to having sexual intercourse with the minor,” Dratte said.

Reaction to the news was fast and furious on the V.I. Free Press‘ Facebook platform.

“Wow. If proven to be true, he needs to be in prison forever.?” Ben Roberts said.

But a woman on St. Thomas disagreed.

“He’s a really great person. If the minor consented to it, he should not have to go to prison forever!!” Rosalie Sasario said. “Just because the parent doesn’t approve does not mean that was rape. What do your kids do behind your back? What did you do when you were a kid behind your parents back?”

But another writer did not agree with Sasario.

“Rosalie Sasario really,” Elroy Hector wrote. “A 30-year-old man has the right to have sex with a child because he is a ‘great person.'”

Anthony C. Stridiron, Jr. agreed with Hector.

“Rosalie Sasario minors can’t consent to sex.” Stridiron wrote.

Bail was set at $75,000. Jackson was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections Detention Center pending an advice-of-rights hearing.

As a boxer, Jackson stands 6-foot-0-inches tall as a light middleweight-middleweight and has a professional record of 21-3.

This case is currently under active investigation by the Domestic Violence Unit.

Any persons having information regarding this incident are asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 774-2211.
