VIPD: St. Croix Woman Shot In Face While Sleeping In Her Estate Diamond Home

FREDERIKSTED — A St. Croix woman has survived an attack in which she was shot in the face through a bedroom window in Estate Diamond while she was sleeping.

Dispatchers from the 911 Emergency Call Center directed police units to Frederiksted after 2:11 a.m. Saturday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The female victim was asleep in her bedroom when she was shot in the face by some unknown shooter who fired multiple shots from outside her bedroom window,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said.

The injured woman was taken to the Juan F. Luis Hospital by ambulance where she was treated for injuries sustained by the gunshot “and remains in stable condition,” Dratte said.

There are two Estate Diamonds in St. Croix. One in Christiansted near the hospital and one in Frederiksted near the Crucian Rum distillery.

Police said the shooting incident took place in Frederiksted.

This incident is under active investigation by the CIB.

    There are three Diamond Estates the article forgets Diamond Keturah. That is located on the South Side Road between Cane Garden and Ha’ Penny Bay.

    Thanks for clarifying that John, the other news media just stated estate diamond which had me thinking if it was next to JFL Hospital. Good job!
