St. Thomas’ T-Quan Vanholten Arrested In Coki Point Road Shooting

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police arrested a 23-year-old St. Thomas man and charged him in a shooting that took place just after midnight Sunday.

T’Quan Vanholten was located in the Smith Bay area on Tuesday and advised of his Constitutional Rights, the Virgin Islands Police Department said. He was then charged with first-degree assault, third-degree assault, second-degree robbery, using a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime, possession of an unlicensed firearm and aiding & abetting, police said. 

Bail for Vanholten was set at $75,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of-rights hearing. 

Mariel C. Newton Command officers responded to call of an unknown individual laying on the public roadway in the area of Coki Point Road at about 12:25 a.m. Sunday. 

Police found a black unknown male who sustained a gunshot wound to the area of the lower abdomen.

The victim was then transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center to seek medical treatment for his gunshot wound and remains in stable condition.

After further investigation of the incident, details revealed that the victim was robbed of U.S. currency and then shot by the fleeing suspects, according to the VIPD.
