VIPD: St. Thomas Man Found Shot To Death Near Subbase Early This Morning

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — An unidentified St. Thomas man was found shot to death near Subbase early this morning, authorities said.

Patrol  officers found “an unresponsive black male in the area of Subbase” about 1:24 a.m. today, the Virgin Islands Police Department said. 

“The male appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound to the body,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said. “Emergency Medical Technicians concluded that the male did not have any vital signs.”

The identity of the dead man is being withheld until next of kin can be notified, according to the VIPD.
