Fisherman Arrested in Machete Attack on St. Thomas

CHARLOTTE AMALIE – A 48-year-old commercial fisherman was arrested for hitting someone with a machete, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Roy A. Otway of Estate Contant was arrested yesterday 4:45pm and charged with third-degree assault, the VIPD said.

Otway, a self-employed fisherman, was arrested after someone said he hit them with a machete, according to police.

The person injured required immediate medical attention, police said.

No further details were released by police.
