Two Men Arrested On Gun Possession Charges On Company Street

CHRISTIANSTED – Two men were arrested and charged with illegal gun possession charges on Company Street in town Tuesday, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Police arrested 21-year-old Dean Schneider of Harbor View Apartments at 5:53 p.m. Tuesday and charged him with unauthorized possession of a firearm, the VIPD said.

Police said they also found a .45-caliber Glock 30 in addition to a 9 millimeter Taurus PT III with an obliterated serial number in Schneider’s vehicle.
Bail for Schneider was set at $25,000.00. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an Advice of Rights hearing.

The second arrest took place at 6:24 p.m. Tuesday when Ameade Williams, 20, of Estate Work and Rest was arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, in connection with the arrest of Schneider, according to police.

Bail for Williams was set at $25,000.00. Unnable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an Advice of Rights hearing.
