Woman’s Screams Cut Short Another Woman’s Beating in Enighed

Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center

CRUZ BAY – The screams of a nearby woman warded off another woman’s attacker as she was being viciously attacked by a former boyfriend late Wednesday night, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Police were notified by the 911 Emergency Call Center about 11 p.m. August 19 that an assault happened in Estate Enighed, the VIPD said.

Police met with the woman who said her former boyfriend punched, strangled and kicked her repeatedly until an unknown woman began screaming at her attacker, according to police. The man then fled the Enighed area.

The woman was transported by ambulance to the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center for treatment, police said.

The assault is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
