CHARLOTTE AMALIE – Seven members of a fishing vessel suffered multiple injuries when their ship ran aground on a reef Saturday, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.
Crew members of the S/V Prowler hit the reef on the Western Coast of St. Thomas before 10:30 p.m. October 17, the VIPD said.
The men were rushed to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital to receive medical treatment. The crew members sustained various injuries ranging from cuts, scrapes, a broken leg, minor bruises, and various injuries to the head, neck, and collar bone.
The incident occurred after a fishing tournament located in Puerto Rico while heading back to St. Thomas after the event.
