BAD COMBINATION: Lindberg Bay Man Arrested On Drunk Driving, Gun Charges

CHARLOTTE AMALIE – A 24-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested on drunk driving and gun charges Friday morning, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Michael McCrystal of Lindbergh Bay was arrested at 8:30 a.m. Friday and charged with driving under the influence, negligent driving, possession of an unlicensed firearm and illegal discharge of a firearm, the VIPD said.

According to the report, McCrystal was arrested after he was involved in a car accident on Veterans Drive, according to police. He was unable to perform a field sobriety test.

A search of his vehicle was conducted, and officers discovered a loaded .40 caliber pistol and ammunition in his possession, police said.

Bail for McCrystal was set at $50,000.00. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an Advice of Rights hearing.
