WEEKEND ARRESTS: Uncle Punched In The Face; Purse Snatched From Hotel Room and Church Service Disrupted

CHARLOTTE AMALIE – Police on St. Thomas are reporting three arrests took place over the weekend on charges ranging from domestic violence and a purse snatching to disturbing the peace.

*On Saturday about 1:04 p.m., Lorna George said she was attacked in front of the Mitchell Motel in Contant. Police internviewed George at the Schneider Regional Hospital and Medical Center where she said an unknown man broke into her room and stole her purse, which contained identification and cash. The attacker then fled the scene on foot. The matter is still under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.

*On Sunday at 2:45 p.m., Julio Ramos, 27, of Paul M. Pearson Gardens, was arrested and charged with simple assault-domestic violence after he allegedly struck his uncle in the face causing cuts to his left eye. Ramos was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an Advice of Rights hearing.

*On Sunday about 9:37 a.m., Isiah George, 31, of Bolongo was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace after he created a scene at the Christian Ministries Church. Police said George also disobeyed orders given by an officer. Bail for George was set at $2,000. He was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an Advice of Rights hearing.
