23-Year-Old Man Arrested In Killing of 42-Year-Old Texas Woman Near Jala Jala

CHARLOTTE AMALIE – A 23-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested this morning for the murder of Rajkumarie Hendrickson at the Jala Jala Nightclub in October, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Jibri Roberts of Bonne Esperance was arrested at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the 42-year-old Texas native’s death on October 24.

At roughly 4:15a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015, the 911 Emergency Call Center notified officers that shots had been fired in the area of the Jala Jala Club located on Kronprindsens Gade.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered an unresponsive female who had sustained numerous gunshot injuries about the body.

According to the preliminary investigation, Hendrickson had been speaking with two men when someone they didn’t know in a Jeep drove up to them and began firing shots in their direction.

Hendrickson was shot where she was standing and never recovered from the shooting.

Roberts is charged with first-degree Murder, second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree Assault, four counts of use of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence and reckless endangerment.

Bail for Roberts was set at $1 million. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an Advice of Rights hearing.
