Homeowner Wrestles Gun From Masked Intruder And Shoots At Him As He Flees

FREDERIKSTED – A St. Croix homeowner told police that his home in Estate Mt. Pleasant was invaded by a masked intruder on Wednesday night.

The 911 Emergency Call Center alerted police at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday that a home invasion had been reported in Estate Mt. Pleasant.

Police interviewed the homeowner at his house in Mt. Pleeasant and told them that he was in the restroom when he heard an unusual.

When he stepped out of the bathroom to investigate he was confronted by an Hispanic male, dressed in camouflage, a mask covering his face, armed with a gun and demanding money, according to police.

A struggle ensued and the homeowner was able to take possession of the masked man’s gun.

The homeowner fired a shot at the suspect who then fled the scene on foot.

The homeowner was not harmed during the incident.
