25-Year-Old Man Walking Home To Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion Shot In The Leg Today

FREDERIKSTED – A 25-year-old man walking home in the early morning hours today was shot in the leg near the Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion.

The 911 Emergency Call Center alerted police to the shooting in Estate Smithfield at 3:43 a.m. Sunday, according to the VIPD.

Police said the man is a resident of Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion and told them that he was walking home when he heard the sound of gunfire and realized immediately that he had been shot.

He told police that prior to the shooting he did not notice anyone near him and had no idea why someone would shoot at him.

The man sustained a non-life threatening wound to his calf and was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

Police are asking anyone with information concerning this incident to contact 911 or the anonymous tip service, CrimeStoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
