28-Year-Old Man Found Hanging From A Tree In Estate Two Williams

         FOUND DEAD: Shem Sankitts

FREDERIKSTED – A 28-year-old man with a history of mental problems was found hanged to death from a tree in Estate Two Williams this afternoon, according to police.

Police said an active search for Shem Sankitts had been underway since Friday when he was first reported missing. Sankitt’s lifeless body was found hanging from a tree in a brush-covered area close to his home.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched police to Estate Two Williams at 12:35 p.m. today with a preliminary report of a suicide.

When police arrived on the scene and saw Sankitts hanging from a tree. An ambulance was summoned and Emergency Medical Technicians who examined Sankitts there found no signs of life.

According to the preliminary report, Sankitts had mental health issues and had been reported as missing on Friday.

An active search was underway for Sankitts since then, when his body was in a tree just north of his residence.

The death is under active investigation by detectives.
