Police Discover Human Remains In Water Well In Christiansted

CHRISTIANSTED – Police say a decomposed body was discovered in a water well in Estate Contentment.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a report from a concerned citizen about 2:50 p.m. today with details about where the body was spotted.

Police responded to the report and when they arrived in Estate Contentment they found an old, uncovered water well and saw the body down in it.

The well was approximately 25 to 30-feet deep and contained about three feet of water.

St. Croix Rescue was summoned to the scene to assist in the extraction of the body.

The discovery of the body is under active investigation by police.
