VIPD Initiative Near Night Club Nabs 29-Year-Old With Gun Stolen From Police In 2009

CHARLOTTE AMALIE – A 29-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested on illegal gun charges near Barbel Plaza on Sunday police said today.

Kareem Huggins of Estate Contant was arrested at 3:32 a.m. after being stopped during a police initiative on Alton Adams Drive near the Illusions Night Club, according to authorities.

Police said that the firearm found in Huggins’ possession was taken from a police officer during an armed robbery in 2009.

Huggins was then additionally charged with robbery and possession of stolen property, police said.

His bail was set at $120,000.00. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an Advice of Rights hearing.
