30-Year-Old Conrad Phipps Jr. Shot To Death At El Rincon Bar

FREDERIKSTED — Tuesday, March 08, 2016 at approximately 9:35pm, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of gunfire having been discharged in the area of Market Street.

Moments later, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a second call indicating that someone was shot in the vicinity of El Ricon Latino Bar and Restaurant located in Frederiksted.

Responding officers and detectives came in contact with the victim lying in the gutter just south of the El Ricon Latino Bar and Restaurant, who’d sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned to the scene, and transported the victim to the Juan Luis Hospital Emergency Room where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary Investigation revealed that the victim who was identified as Conrad “C.J.” Phipps Jr., 30, a resident of Concordia Frederiksted had gotten into an argument and was shot by an unknown suspect.

This homicide is under active investigation, and Police are asking anyone with information concerning this incident to phone the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-712-6024 / 340-712-6037, 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
