G.O.P. State Chairman Canegata Accuses Plaskett Of Making Light Of FBI Investigation of Clinton
Republican State Chairman John Canegata
CHRISTIANSTED — The Chairman of the Republican party said today that Rep. Stacey Plaskett (D-VI) is not taking her role as a member of Congress seriously and accused her of making light of an FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a “homebrew” email server during her time as Secretary of State.
“Congresswoman Plaskett is putting her political allegiance to
Secretary Clinton and party bosses ahead of ensuring that national
secrets and other sensitive classified information wasn’t obtained by
hostile nations,” said Republican Party Chairman John Canegata.
“Whether you’re a Democrat or Republican, the facts are clear: The FBI determined Secretary Clinton was untruthful about her use of a
homebrew email server.”
Canegata said that “Plaskett mocked the Thursday morning congressional hearing with FBI Director James Comey in a post on her official, taxpayer-funded
Twitter channel (accessible at”
Comey deemed Clinton’s conduct to be “extremely careless.” He further stated “hostile” and “sophisticated adversaries” most likely had access to her email messages, Canegata said.

Plaskett has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president. Canegata has stated publicly that he supports businessman Donald Trump for president.
The following is an excerpt of the statement Comey read:
“Consistent with our counterintelligence responsibilities, we have also investigated to determine whether there is evidence of computer intrusion in connection with the personal e-mail server by any foreign power, or other hostile actors,” Comey said. “I have so far used the singular term, ‘e-mail server, in describing the referral that began our investigation. It turns out to have been more complicated than that. Secretary Clinton used several different servers and administrators of those servers during her four years at the State Department, and used numerous mobile devices to view and send e-mail on that personal domain.”
