Guardian Insurance Employee Ashio Rojas Arrested For Allegedly Stealing $14K From Company

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — On Thursday, October 13, 2016, Forty-two year old Ashio Rojas was present at the Economic Crime Unit in reference to a report of Embezzlement at Guardian Insurance Company in the amount of $13,979.00.

Rojas, who is a former employee of Guardian Insurance Company, admitted to stealing funds that where entrusted to him while he was an underwriter at the Tutu Park Mall location and used the funds for his own personal use.

Rojas also admitting to forging the signature on a Ranger American deposit log in an attempt to cover his crime. Rojas was arrested and charged with Embezzlement, Forgery, Grand Larceny, and Obtaining Money by False Pretense.

Bail for Ashio Rojas was set at $35,000.00 and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections, pending his Advise of Rights hearing.
