NARROWS IT DOWN: A police composite sketch of the accused East End St. Thomas serial rapist shows him to be a light-complected, stunted-short black man with a wide African nose.
CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) said tonight that it is actively investigating a series of sexual assaults that have occurred in the East End area of St. Thomas. The attacks appear to be possibly connected to a number of sexual assaults that occurred in the vicinity of Estate Frydenhoj between August 15, 2016 and January 24, 2017.
The suspect is described as being a black man, about 5-foot, 5-inches tall, between 18 – 25 years of age, who weighs about “125-130 pounds,” has a “Caribbean accent,” slim build, no beard on his face, flat nose, short haircut and a slight mustache.
According to previous incidents, the sexual assaults have been taken place inside of an apartment or a single family residence.
In each of these cases, the female victim was reported alone in and outside the residence, police said.
The suspect has entered each residence through an unlocked door or awaits the victim outside the residence, they said.
VIPD chief spokesman Glen Dratte was asked at 8:41 p.m. if the police composite sketch depicts a light-skinned black man or a dark-skinned black man, but Dratte did not immediately respond to the V.I. Free Press‘s request for more information for the public.
