Third Rape Suspect In St. Croix’s East End Carjacking Rape Case Hubert ‘Blackest’ Lee Returned To The Territory To Face Charges

FREDERIKSTED — The Virgin Islands public got its first look here on Saturday at the third sexual assault suspect arrested in the East End carjacking rape case after he fled the territory to North Carolina just days after the incident.

On Saturday July 8, 2017 Hubert Wyliss Lee Jr., aka “Blackest” were returned to St Croix escorted by the VIPD Criminal Investigation Detectives. Lee was extradited from North Carolina via American Airlines.

Lee was booked, processed and transported to the Golden Grove Detention Center, pending his advice of rights hearing bail was set at $500,000. All three suspects for the East End Road Carjacking is now in VIPD custody.

On Monday June 19, 2017 22–year-old Hubert Wyliss Lee Jr., Aka “Blackest “was arrested pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by a U.S., Virgin Islands Superior Court Magistrate.

Lee is charged with Rape 1st, Kidnapping for Rape, False Imprisonment, Assault 1st, Assault 3rd, Carry or Using a Dangerous Weapon during a Commission of a Crime, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Unauthorized use of a Motor vehicle and Robbery 1st.

Lee was apprehended by the US Marshal Service in North Carolina and was in Custody at the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office awaiting extradition back to the St. Croix, US. Virgin Islands.

Hubert Wyllis Lee Jr. is a suspect in connection to the East End Road Carjacking /Rape the took place on Thursday, May 6, 2017 when the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call at approximately 11:36p.m., about a carjacking on the Eastern Road, Christiansted.

Victim one contacted 911 and stated that she was traveling with a friend on the Eastern Road, when a vehicle started hitting them from behind causing them to stop; they were separated and her friend was taken by the individuals to another location.

Victim two later contacted 911 and stated she was sexually assaulted. The victim was then transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital for examination.

An anonymous tip that pays cash money to the person who reports actionable information resulted in the arrest of Hubert Lee via Crime Stoppers USVI, police said.

The VIPD said that it extended their “gratitude” to American Airlines for transporting the suspect Lee back to the territory.
