Hull Bay Residence Catches On Fire But Firefighters' Swift Response Saves St. Thomas House On Thursday Night

CHARLOTTE AMALIE – A unit from the Echo Company Fire Station responded to a residential fire in Estate Hull about 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Once on the scene, fire personnel observed flames coming from the side of the residence.

Upon making entry into the home, they further observed the fire spreading from the laundry room and bathroom to the hallway.

After attacking the fire, firefighters were able to contain it to the laundry room and bathroom and fully extinguished it within 40 minutes.

Before returning to their duty station at 9:45 p.m., Fire Service personnel conducted salvage and overhaul operations and a safety inspection.

The fire remains under investigation by the Arson Investigation and Prevention Unit, according to Government House.
