CHRISTIANSTED — On Thursday September 14, 2017 about 7 a.m. 911 Emergency Call Center, received a call of shots being discharged in the Castle Coakley area.
Upon officers arrival officers observed an unresponsive Hispanic male individual with a gunshot wound to the head, the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) said.
Alex Camacho succumbed to his injuries sustained from the gunshot wound, according to the VIPD.
Unofficial police sources said that the killing took place near V.I. Cargo in Castle Coakley.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Camacho was walking on his way to work when this incident happened.
The Criminal Investigation’s Bureau is actively investigating this incident and is asking anyone with information to call the CIB Crime line at (340) 778-4950, Crime Stoppers at 1800 222-8477 or 911.
