FREDERIKSTED — A St. Croix man was shot in the shoulder and leg after being strafed in a drive-by shooting in Estate Profit on Saturday night.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a shooting at the Flamboyant Restaurant about 7:35 p.m. on Saturday.

Police arriving on scene found a black man with gunshot wounds to the body after responding to the 911 report.

The man told police he left the restaurant to charge his cellphone in his car, which was parked along the side of the road.

“Some time after, he said a vehicle with an unknown number of occupants drove up, and individuals inside the vehicle began firing shots at him,” a police source said.

The injured man told police the suspects fired at least 30 shots at him, winging him in the shoulder and leg.

The man did not cooperate with police, telling them that he could identify the type of vehicle the suspects were in or a description of what they looked like.

The victim was taken to the Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, which were not life threatening.

Police sources said that multiple gun shell casings were recovered from the scene by authorities.
