‘Once In 2 Blue Moons’ Dance-A-Thon Hopes To Raise Funds For Charities on St. Thomas

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Love of Dance V.I. group will be holding an all ages “Once In 2 Blue Moons” dance-a-thon at the Pistarckle Theater in St. Thomas on March 31.

Face painting will be available for children along with prizes for adults and children, dance classes, live music and DJ’s, the group said on its Facebook page and an interview today with Web Fingers on WZIN-FM 104.3 “The Buzz.”

The event, which is considered “kid friendly,” begins at 8 a.m. and runs until 8 p.m. and will be held at 4126 Anna’s Retreat in Tillett Gardens in the theater.

Some of dance styles being performed include West African, Hip Hop and Zumba.

Organizers hope to raise $20,000 for charity which they hope will be matched by a generous philanthropist.

“Come as you are as we come together through music and movement, while raising awareness and funds for charitable organizations,” the group said. “Sponsorships, hourly pledges and donations encouraged.”
