CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Two St. Thomas men were arrested after a routine traffic stop revealed that they had a “large amount” of cocaine in their vehicle.

According to the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) said that in St. Thomas on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at roughly 4:27 p.m. officers performed a traffic stop of a red jeep at the intersection of the Harwood Highway, in the vicinity of the Calvary Christian Academy.

Upon conducting an investigation of the vehicle, a large amount of narcotics of a white powdery substance was discovered. The white powdery substance was field tested and tested positive for cocaine.

Jesus Del Rosario Rondon, 40, the operator of the vehicle and Khadin Calvin Fahie, 21, the passenger, were arrested Wednesday and charged with constructive possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

Rondon and Fahie were booked, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending an Advice of Rights hearing.
