USVI Hotel & Tourism Association Wants To Help You Find Your Dream Job

CHARLOTTE AMALIE – With the June 20 launch of the USVI Hotel & Tourism Association’s online job bank, employers and candidates have a new hub for listing and searching available jobs.

Employers can log on today to begin advertising available positions and searching for qualified candidates while job candidates can browse opportunities, see companies seeking employees and upload a resume.

“The job bank offers a valuable tool to place and seek employment opportunities in the USVI post-storms. With all of the hotel and business closures, I have been contacted by several businesses looking for employees as well as unemployed workers looking for jobs. The newly created job bank offers a one-stop-shop for Virgin Islanders to facilitate employment opportunities in the territory,” said USVIHTA President Lisa Hamilton.

During the first phase of the roll out, the job bank will be available at no cost to USVIHTA members, St. Croix Hotel & Tourism Association members and businesses not affiliated with either association. Initial access to the bank is free of charge, so businesses are strongly encouraged to sign up today. Available jobs will capture all aspects of the tourism industry from food and beverage to hospitality as well as other private and public sector positions posted by non-members.

In a future phase of the job bank, access will only be available to USVIHTA members. The job bank site features a link for non-members interested in applying for membership and continuing their access to the wealth of candidates in the job bank.

The idea for the job bank was born after Hamilton attended Caribbean Travel Marketplace in January and learned that the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association would be launching a regional job bank. As the territory was heavily impacted by the devastating storms of 2017, Hamilton felt it would be beneficial for the U.S. Virgin Islands to have a local network for employers and employees.

The skilled creative team at Social Caddie, a marketing company offering a broad range of services, assisted USVIHTA in designing the online job bank. Social Caddie has worked with the association on numerous projects over the years and, recognizing the fragile state of the territory, created the bank at a substantial discount.

“Our team was very excited to work on this project as it will provide much needed support for the territory. Having personally worked with the USVI for over 20 years, I felt it was important for our team to do whatever we could to help support our great friends in the USVI. We will continue to work with the association to enhance the program with additional resources and tools,” said Social Caddie President & CEO Javier Morales.
