ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH FIRST-DEGREE RAPE: TESHAWN MILLS OF ST. THOMAS
[ad name=”HTML-68″]CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man told police he was at “a male acquaintance’s” house last month and after falling asleep, woke up only to find himself being sexually assaulted by the man.
Teshawn Mills, 27, of Charlotte Amalie was arrested about 11:30 a.m. on Thursday and charged with first-degree rape-domestic violence.
Mills was booked, processed, and remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice of rights hearing. No bail was as per the domestic violence statute.
According to the Virgin Islands Police Department, the Domestic Violence Unit was notified about 7 p.m. on June 23 that a sexual assault that occurred the day before.
Police said that Mills waived his Miranda rights and answered questions, according to the VIPD.
“Mills gave a statement admitting to having sexual intercourse with the victim,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said.
On social media, Mills said that he attended Charlotte Amalie High School (CAHS).
Police said Mills was interviewed by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
