FREDERIKSTED — The human remains found in a burnt out car 12 days ago in William’s Delight belong to 21-year-old Naji Jarvis.

Police said family members reported Jarvis missing on August 26 and Jarvis’ burnt out car was discovered in William’s Delight the next day.

The Virgin Islands Police Department spokesman Glen Dratte said that the Criminal Investigations Bureau confirmed through DNA testing that the burned-beyond-recognition remains were those of Jarvis.

Dratte said that the case is classified as a homicide. But apparently the VIPD doesn’t have any strong leads because they are asking for your help.

Jarvis was active with the U.S. military at the time of his death. Police said next of kin had been notified.

The case remains under active investigation by the CIB.

The CIB is asking anyone with information relative to this case or any other to please contact the CIB TIP-LINE at 469-475-3871, (340) 778-2211, Crimestoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477 or 911.
