VIPD: St. Thomas’ D’quan Rogers Arrested on Assault and Illegal Gun Charges

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man was arrested on assault and illegal gun charges on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at approximately 11:20 p.m., units from the Richard N. Callwood Command along with units from the Criminal Investigation Bureau traveled to Sib’s Restaurant about an assault victim.

Upon arrival, the officers  met with the victim who stated that he got into a verbal altercation with the suspect, which turned physical, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The victim stated that the suspect struck him on the head with a bottle causing injuries, according to the VIPD.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect D’quan Rogers also brandished a firearm after he struck the victim.

On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, D’quan Rogers, 24, was arrested pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the Magistrate Court of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Rogers was charged with third-degree assault  and unauthorized possession of a weapon, police said.

Bail was set at $25,000 he was remanded to custody of the Bureau of Corrections (BOC).
