St. Croix's Jose DeJesus Perez Arrested By Police Same Day VIPD Said He Was Wanted

FREDERIKSTED — A man who was wanted by police acts of alleged domestic violence since Thursday was arrested by the Virgin Islands Police Department the same day.

Jose DeJesus Perez, 38, was contacted by police on Thursday and placed under arrest for second-degree assault and simple assault & battery–domestic violence, according to the VIPD.

No bail was set for DeJesus Perez as per the domestic violence statute. He was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections (BOC) pending an advice-of-rights hearing.

A woman who knows DeJesus Perez walked in to the Wilbur Francis Command in Frederiksted at 12:44 a.m. Thursday and said that DeJesus Perez had choked her and slammed her to the ground.
