ARRESTED FOR OPENLY CARRYING A LOADED GUN AT TIDE VILLAGE AREA GAS STATION: ABDUL PEMBERTON

CHRISTIANSTED –A concerned citizen called the 911 Emergency Call Center at 6:49 p.m. Thursday to say that a black man with starter locks and wearing a green shirt had a hand gun at the Eastway Service Station.

Police from the Marshall Command Police Station responded with other units at the Tide Village-area gas station and contacted a black male who identified himself as 26-year-old Abdul Pemberton.

Police were able to retrieve a black Glock 30 .45 Caliber pistol/holster with one loaded magazine with one round chambered, an additional fully loaded magazine with 10 rounds; a total of 20 live rounds and a black ski mask.

Pemberton was charged with carrying of firearm; openly or concealed, possession or Sale of ammunition, possession of a firearm within a 1,000 foot of a school, and contempt of court.

At the probable cause hearing today the Superior Court Magistrate found probable cause for Pemberton’s arrest.

Unable to post $50,000 bail, Pemberton was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center.
