BVI Woman Walking By Krum Bay Hit By Motorcycle

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A British Virgin Islands woman was seriously injured when walking in St. Thomas when she was struck by a motorcycle.

The 28-year-old pedestrian was crossing the eastbound lane of Krum Bay Road with a male friend when she was hit by the motorcycle.

Police sources said the motorcycle was traveling from east to west in the right lane and narrowly missed the man, knocking the woman down on her left side.

As a result of the accident, the woman suffered major fractures and broken bones to her lower extremities and cuts to her head.

The native of Road Town, Tortola was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for emergency surgery.

Police have made no arrests in the incident and sources said they don’t have a clue as to who did it.

The Virgin Islands Police Department provided no information for this article.

VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
