PORT OF SPAIN — A “light magnitude” earthquake struck about 31 miles off the northwest coast of Trinidad just after midnight today.
The quake registered 4.4 on the Richter Scale and happened at 12:10 a.m. today, the University of the West Indies’ Seismic Research Center said.
It was recorded at a depth of about 6.21 miles at latitude 10.52 North and longitude 61.94 West, according to the SRC.
The epicenter was located 31 miles west-southwest of Port of Spain, 38 miles northwest of San Fernando and 46 miles west-southwest of Arima.
