Juan F. Luis Hospital Delivers First Baby of 2019 In St. Croix On Wednesday

CHRISTIANSTED — The Juan F. Luis Hospital delivered St. Croix’s first baby of the year in Estate Diamond on Wednesday.

Mathias Hector Wheelock arrived at about 7:55 a.m., weighing seven pounds, 3.2 ounces and measuring 52 centimeters in length (20.5 inches).

Mother Aida Marrero, and baby are doing well. We thank Postpartum, Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby Unit and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a successful delivery and care of mother and baby.

JFL’s Acting CEO Dyma Williams presented the mother and baby with gifts today, including a Travel System (car seat and stroller) and gift bag with assorted baby items on behalf of the JFL administration and staff.

The gifts included a Diaper Cake from the JFL Women and Children’s Unit, a gift bag from Chey’s Baby Store and a gold hook bracelet from Luv Kids/Perfection Jewelry Store.
