BRIDGETOWN — People in Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and St. Lucia were rattled by a 4.6 magnitude earthquake early this morning.
The ‘quake struck about 73 miles west-southwest of Barbados and about 46 miles from St. Vincent and Grenadines, the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Center said.
The tremors happened about 1:13 a.m. Wednesday, according to the UWI-SRC.
Researchers said the earthquake occurred at latitude 12.84 north and longitude 60.64 west at a depth of 13.67 miles underground.
The SRC said the quake happened about 46 miles southeast of Kingstown, St. Vincent and The Grenadines; about 73 miles west-southwest of Bridgetown, Barbados and about 85 miles south-southwest of Castries, St. Lucia.
