Four Senators To Host Roundtable Discussion About Women’s Issues Friday

FREDERIKSTED – Senator Alicia Barnes, in collaboration with Senator Allison DeGazon, Senator Donna Frett-Gregory, and Senator Janelle Sarauw, will host a roundtable discussion in recognition of International Women’s Day on Friday.

The discussion will take place between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Economic Development Authority’s conference room located at the William D. Roebuck Industrial Park on St. Croix.

Confirmed panelists include former female members of the USVI Legislature and women leaders in the community.

This year’s theme: #BalanceforBetter addresses gender balance in all sectors: business, government, academia, religion, etc.  According to the International Women’s Day Official Website.

“Everyone has a part to play – all the time, everywhere. From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance. We notice its absence and celebrate its presence. Balance drives a better working world. Let’s all help create a #BalanceforBetter.”

Keeping with the International Women’s Day 2019 theme, the topic of the roundtable discussion is: “The Challenges Women Leaders Face to Maintain Gender Balance.”

The roundtable discussion will be livestreamed on the Office of Senator Alicia V. Barnes official Facebook page with an immediate press release on the U.S. Virgin Islands Legislature website, Facebook page, and media.
