KINGSHILL — A Home Depot cashier is accused of stealing from the mid-island-based store on two occasions, authorities said.
Clyde James Jr., 27, was arrested about 2:45 p.m. on Monday and charged with embezzlement by clerks, agents and employees and petit larceny, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Police said detectives from the Economic Crime Unit initiated an investigation Monday about some petty thievery that was taking place at Home Depot.
Detectives observed James on surveillance video on two different occasions leaving the Home Depot store with unpaid items that were voided by another cashier.
Bail for James was set at $10,000. Unable to post bond, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of -rights hearing.
