CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man who allegedly threatened to kill a mechanic because he had not finished repairing his car fast enough — has been arrested by police on illegal gun charges.
Allan E. Stevens, 42, of Charlotte Amalie, was arrested about 9 a.m. Sunday and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of unlicensed ammunition, disturbance of the peace (threats), carrying-using a dangerous weapon and possession of stolen property, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Richard N. Callwood Command patrol officers contacted the victim about 6:35 a.m. Sunday. The man told them that Allan Stevens threatened to kill him because he had not finished fixing Steven’s vehicle yet, according to the VIPD.
“The victim stated that he was attempting to buy coffee from Happy View when he noticed that Stevens was walking behind of him, VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said. “The victim then stated that when he turned around, he observed Stevens with a firearm in his hand and Mr. Stevens told him, ‘I will kill you.'”
The victim continued to state that right after Stevens threatened him, he observed a marked police unit on patrol, so he flagged down the police unit.
The victim concluded by stating that while flagging the police, he observed that Stevens traveled to the road adjacent of Happy View Market to where three vehicles were parked.
Officers conducted an inspection of the road adjacent to Happy View Market and located a firearm underneath one of the vehicles in which the victim identified as the weapon Stevens brandished at him, according to Dratte.
On Facebook, Stevens said he went to Charlotte Amalie High School (CAHS).
Police said Stevens was advised of his Constitutional Rights, booked, processed pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
His bail was set at $50,000. Unable to post bond, Stevens was remanded to the V.I. Bureau of Corrections (BOC).
