USVIEDA Joins With SBA To Recruit USVI Entrepreneurs For A Free Small Business Growth Training Program

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the launch of the 2019 Emerging Leaders Initiative for executives of small businesses poised for growth in emerging markets.

This intensive executive entrepreneurship series includes nearly 100 hours of classroom time. Participants are provided with the opportunity to work with a network of experienced coaches and mentors, attend specialized workshops, and develop connections with their peers, city leaders, and the financial community in order to build sustainable businesses.

“The USVIEDA is delighted to help recruit USVI entrepreneurs and executives for this free small business growth training program as an immediate next step in the Strategic Alliance Memorandum,” said Kamal Latham, CEO of the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority. “The USVIEDA team and I congratulate the SBA on their work in launching this year’s Emerging Leaders Initiative, and we look forward to inviting and encouraging our talented local business leaders to apply and participate,” added Latham.

Since its inception in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, SBA’s Emerging Leaders program has graduated more than 20 companies based in the territory.

The application deadline for this year’s Virgin Islands cycle has been extended to Wednesday.
