CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas woman told police she had to rabbit punch her man to get him to stop strangling her on Sunday morning.
The Domestic Violence Unit of the Virgin Islands Police Department was advised that an alleged assault was in progress at an address in Estate Contant about 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
“She stated that Junior Jones threatened to do her bodily harm when she asked him when he will be returning to work,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said. “She stated that he grabbed her by her neck and strangled her until she threw punches at him to get away from him.”
She further stated that Jones armed himself with a baseball bat and continued to swing it at her, making threats to hit her in her head, so she armed herself with a kitchen knife and when he approached her doing same he was cut on his upper forearm.
On Sunday March 31, 2019 at approximately 11:59p.m., Junior S. Jones age 36 was advised of his Constitutional Rights and placed under arrest for Assault 2nd DV, Disturbance of the Peace -Threats DV , Destruction of Property DV .
Jones was booked, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights Hearing.
No bail was set as per Domestic Violence Law.
