Lemartec and V.I. Port Authority Host Community Health And Safety Fair

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Lemartec, the prime construction manager rebuilding Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) assets impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, is co-hosting a Health & Safety Fair with VIPA this Saturday, May 11th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cyril E. King Airport.

The event will be held in the main baggage claim area and is open to the public. The St. Thomas community is invited to come in and receive a free general health check-up including blood pressure check, blood sugar screening, cholesterol screening and optional flu shot vaccine.

Visit and ask questions to the health and wellness professionals on site in the fields of chiropractic, massage therapy, and fitness services.

The Red Cross and St. Thomas Rescue will be conducting safety demonstrations and training throughout the morning.

“This event was originally planned for our employees and local subcontractors whose health and safety is our number one priority,”
said Manny Garcia-Tuñón, president of Lemartec. “However, during the planning process, we received numerous requests to share the event with the public which we are pleased to do. It is important for all of us to understand our personal wellness levels and be updated on safety procedures to continually improve the health and safety of our community.”

Parking is available in the airport lot. Families and children are welcome.
